The Upper Valley Waldorf School is a vibrant school nestled in the hills of Vermont's Green Mountains in an area which is culturally rich and close to centers of higher learning. Growing steadily since our founding in 1991, we now enjoy a student population approaching 170 and offer a full Nursery through 8th grade program.
Our school is one of nearly 1,000 Waldorf schools worldwide sharing this 90-year old educational philosophy.
On Wednesday, October 1, several members of the UVWS class of 2008 and their parents gathered at UVWS to plant and erect their class gift, a beautiful red cedar peace pole. The languages they chose for the peace pole are English, (their primary language), French and German, (languages they studied throughout their Waldorf years), and Chinese, (because they had classmates with Chinese background and because their first class teacher, Ms. Long, loved Chinese and wove it into the curriculum of first and second grade).
