Celebrating 100 years of Waldorf Education
At UVWS, we believe that Waldorf Education should be accessible to all who seek it. Our student population draws from 34 towns in the Upper Valley, and a variety of economic backgrounds are represented, including families whose income levels qualify for Vermont child care subsidies, and families below the federal poverty level. Each year, over 20% of our operating budget supports robust tuition adjustment packages.
To sustain our mission of accessibility, our fall Annual Giving Campaign balances the support we offer with the needs of our school via tax-deductible gifts. This year, our centennial campaign—known as $100K in 100 Days—commenced at our Waldorf100 Celebration on September 19th, 2019. Among new friends and school founders, we made a big announcement: UVWS received a matching challenge from donors, including The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, to raise $100,000 in 100 days!
In response, we raised $123,944.
At this centennial threshold, while we honor our history and boldly look forward to our future, we are sincerely grateful for our community of generous supporters. In the next century, the capacity that Waldorf Education has to grow, change, and inspire the Upper Valley—and the world—rests inside the circle of their hands, hearts, and minds. Wherever we go, whatever we do, the future will happen because we all showed up and made it so.
Here’s to stepping into the next 100 years with strength!
