Apply for state subsidies or scholarships

Depending on the age of your child and your state of residence, you may be eligible for the following subsidies and scholarships.

Preschool & Kindergarten

  • Vermont residents with 3, 4 and 5-year-olds can receive the Vermont Act 166 subsidy, which deducts $3,982 from the UVWS tuition for the 2025/26 school year.

    Please note:

    • Children must be 3 years old by September 1 to receive this subsidy.

    • Children turning 6 partway through the school year may receive a prorated amount.

    How to apply:

    • In order to receive this subsidy, you will need to register your child with your local school district.

    • When you register them, you will need to list UVWS as your child’s school. Some districts may list UVWS as a school option, other districts may require you to make a note of this on the registration form or reach out to the district contact person to let them know that your child will be attending UVWS.

    • After you register your child, your local school district will communicate your subsidy eligibility to UVWS and you will see that reflected in your tuition invoice.

    When to apply:

    • New families should register with their local school district as soon as they receive an acceptance letter from UVWS.

    • Current families should register with their local school district as soon as you sign your UVWS enrollment agreement. You will need to re-register your child every year that they are eligible for this subsidy.
